Campsite dump tank

Here's a gross topic for you. I just emptied my black tank at my site. After about 15 seconds, the ground opened up about 3 feet over and erupted water. I'm assuming my tank is full in the ground. We've had 7" of rain in 10 days. Is that the issue or do these things get pumped out periodically? 🤔 Naturally, the office is closed.

If it is a septic tank then it is quite possible that the drain field is saturated. Happens at my house from time to time. But call whoever runs the place and let them know.

I think it would be unusual for each campsite to have its own dump tank. They would all be connected to run into one or more large tanks or a sewer system. I hope you contacted the office with the problem.

Broken pipe underground

As it turns out, the place is on the city sewer system. Nobody else has a problem so the pipe must be broken from my site to the main line. No repair made yet.
