Cape Charles, VA KOA

Has anyone stayed here before? How are the mosquitoes this time of year?

My wife made a reservation there over 4th of july. They quoted us 1200$ for 7 days. After telling me about it we're staying in myrtle on our way south.

We stayed there before the KOA owned it but the wind off of the bay does a good job keeping the little bastards away.
Cape Charles is 10 miles up RT 13 and has some great restaurants and a massive beach of their own. It's a charming little town. Don't miss Brown Dog ice cream or the Shanty.

Its a very “trailer park” environment, not at all a campground feel. Lots of spaces one right next to another.

I live on the southern end of the bridge tunnel and for some reason the Virginia State Insect hasn't made much of an appearance so far this year in the area. Local cities haven't been talking about mass spraying or other eradication efforts as yet.

Per night rate is a bit high for the area at around $120 for a back in 50/30 amp full hook up site over a non-holiday weekend. The state park a little further up the road costs $40 for the same.
