Cape Cod in May
Hi everyone, any recommendations for big rig campgrounds near or on Cape Cod. We are starting to plan a early May trip in that direction.

I would recommend Atlantic Oaks in Eastham. Campground is located at the halfway point up the cape. Full hookups pull through sites, clean bathrooms/showers, well maintained family campground.
Cape Cod National Seashore beaches and Bay side beaches minutes away. Cape Cod Rail Trail behind campground and famous Arnolds Restautant next door.
Mike

Hi Steven, Atlantic Oaks is our favorite Cape Cod getaway, we usually head up after just after Labor Day, stop by and say hello if your ever up there that time of year!

I also recommend Atlantic Oakes campground for all the reasons mentioned. We have reservations there in June for a week. If you like beaches, keep in mind you are at the National Seashore and those beaches are free if you have the senior pass. I think they normally charge $20? Beware of town beaches, they charge a lot and don’t hesitate to hand out tickets. In May, there is also the possibility beaches are not officially open and free anyways.

We always stay at Bayview Campground on rt. 28 in Bourne. It's very well run and facilities are immaculate.

Just be aware the Cape can be gray cold and wet in early May. Sometimes it's nice but the closer to Memorial Day the better.
P.S. When we have friends bringing there RVs we send them to Atlantic Oaks!

Take the Hyline ferry from Hyannis to Nantucket for a day trip. You can rent bikes or mopeds on island. Beautiful place, neat downtown area by the ferry terminal, lots of shops, eateries, the whaling museum is very nice. My wife and I spent 5 years on Nantucket, lovely area.

Cape Cod Stay
As a kid (many years ago) we used to stay at Bourne Scenic Park. It's located right at the big bridge over the Cape Cod Canal. As kids, we were endlessly amused by the big ships passing through the canal right there in front of us. It has something like 400 sites. We hope to go back there in a few years and revisit younger days.
