Carson City

Any recommendations for an RV park in the Carson City Nevada area? I was looking for a place to stay a few days to check out a places like Virginia City, Genoa, etc, before it gets too cold for us Vegas folks.

In May of this year we stayed at Camp-N-Town RV Park. It was a nice place close to all you want to see.
Look it up.

Lots of road construction

Currently there is a lot of road construction in the Carson City downtown area so I would recommend staying close to the 580 freeway. Try Gold Dust West on Highway 50. It is away from the road construction and is an easy on and off the freeway.

Virginia City is accessed by traveling east on Highway 50. Genoa is best accessed by traveling Jacks Valley Road (beautiful drive). Take the 580 south to the end and head south on 395 to Jacks Valley. Hopefully you have a toad as all roads leading to Virginia City (from Hwy 50) are not RV friendly.

Have fun.

We stayed at the Virginia City RV Park in July. It was a little tight getting through VA City in a 40' DP with a toad but we made it. Walking distance to the main drag - very cool old Western town with a lot of history.

In Carson City, we stayed at the Comstock Country RV Resort. Very open and big sites. Not too bad of a drive to downtown or Tahoe. Make sure you go to the hot springs!

We stayed at the Casino about a year ago. Nothing fancy, but it worked for us.

Besides Comstock RV Resort (gravel sites) at the south end of Carson City there are two more places further south. Carson Valley Inn has a very nice small but big rig accessible campground located in Minden. The casino is within walking distance and their restaurants have a pretty good selection. The next one is north of Carson Valley Inn and is Silver City RV Resort (gravel sites). This one gets high winds and lots of road noise.

There is a new Indian Truck Stop when you first enter the valley on US 395. Suggest you fill up here because of good egress. Silver City also has an easy in/out gas/diesel station.
