Is there a Federal cg or Nat Park cg there with discount for seniors?

While there are some CG's there, not much near I-87 which I assume that you will be traveling. There are quite a few in the Saratoga/Lake George region about 75-100 miles further North, but since the Saratoga horse race season, might be full. If you are planning to cross Lake Champlain, the bridge at Crown Point in now gone and being replaced. It wont be open for at least another year. You will have to take the ferry at Essex, Ticonderoga or Plattsburgh. If you are traveling up US7 in Vermont instead, Camping on the Battenkill in Arlington is nice - just be warned that you shouldn't stay too close to the river. If you are going up I-87/Northway, there is a very nice CG in Westport - Barber's Homestead CG is inexpensive and they do offer a seniors discount. We did a seasonal there after staying many time as weekenders and it was great. I cannot recommend Bulwagga CG at Port Henry - it can be a zoo on the best of days.
NYS campgrounds are mostly pretty basic and dry camping - and totally full from Memorial Day through Labor Day. There are no Federal CG's as there are no National Forests in NYS
