Any recommendations for a nice campground in Charleston, SC in October?

Lot of folks like James Island. We prefer Oak Plantation. RV Park Reviews :: Charleston, South Carolina ( SC ) - RV Parks and Campground Reviews

James Island, especially if you have kids. Or, are a kid.

We stay at Edisto Island State Park Ocean Side in the spring - very nice if you like out of the way laid back beach places.
It's about an hour country drive to old town/downtown Charleston.
Water and electric - dump station on your way out.
P.S. You need a toad or rental for Charleston - old town/downtown Charleston is not a good place to drive a motorhome.

I agree that this is a very nice park in its own right. If your main objective is to spend time in Charleston then, as nice as this park is, I would stay at one of the others much closer to Charleston.
