Charleston SC Camping

Hi We are going to Asheville for a few days and got some advice where to camp there (thanks to all who responded).
Our next stop will be Charleston SC for about a week.
Anyone have any suggestions for campgrounds around Charleston. Thanks

Thanks That is one I saw online and thought it was nice looking on the website. Lake Aire RV park and Oak Plantation were other choices that looked nice online.

How strict is the no alcohol rule there. We enjoy going for a walk with a cocktail in hand.

We have not stayed there but have at Myrtle Beach State park. We were amazed when we saw the no alcohol rule so we asked campers next to us. They pretty much said don't display it I.E. use a plastic cup, behave and no one will say a word. They also said the rule works well for the rangers to have a no way to question rule to toss kids that decide to have a loud party.

Hopefully someone that has been to James island and likes their cocktails as much as we do can chime in.

I stay at the Oak Plantation two or three times a year. Great place close to Charleston.

James Island is the greatest place we've ever stayed in during Savannah trips. Love that place, and a water park across the street to boot!

Put the cocktail in a cup, don't stagger, slur your speach while talking to a campground rep, or start a fight and you will be just fine.

We could actually only stay at James Island for 4 days because of availability and then moved out to Lake Aire. It's "ok" but the web site pictures make it look a little nicer than it turned out to be.

As mentioned, use a plastic cup and you'll be fine.

We stayed at oak plantation as well. Quiet and clean. Would recommend to anyone traveling through.

That's what I figured. We had a boat in Lake Erie for 19 yrs and stayed at many state marinas with a no alchol rule. The only time the officers enforced it was when a boat would arrive with a loud party going on.
