Coral Pink Sands State Park, Utah

Looking to visit in a couple weeks. The website says 40' but the drive thru sites are all 70' - 100' long. Google earth shows the sites with some pretty large rigs parked. I just can't see any reason we can't fit. Anybody have experience with a large 43'-45' rig there?

We had our 40' there with plenty of room. I can't see a problem you'd have. The sands are gorgeous. Be sure to check out Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in nearby Kanab. It's a no-kill facility is a lovely area. Take the tour. It's very impressive. You will also be fairly close for a day trip to Grand Canyon North Rim. Have fun!

I think I'm going to try. I wanted to go to the North Rim but we will be too early. In fact, several places I have wanted to go don't open until May. Also wanted to go to Mesa Verde but not open until 4/28.

Sorry about the North Rim - opening is May 15. However, Mesa Verde is open all year-round if you still want to try for that.

The website shows it unavailable so I called them yesterday to confirm and they told me the campground doesn't open until 4/28. The park itself may be open.

For Mesa Verde there are other campgrounds just outside the park entrance.

Thanks for the help. Looks like we are going to postpone the Colorado and higher altitude portion until August. We'll be ready for a break from Central Texas by then, anyway.

So how did it work out for you? Loved the dunes? Spots large enough?

Since most of the places we wanted to go in APR were at higher elevations and still closed, we opted to just return to Texas and save the vacation time. We are headed to CO in SEP. Will catch CPS next visit to UT, which won't be too long.
