There is one and I think I have it on my laptop. Will check tonight.

That's a easy to use site but there might be a bug in it

I typed in some info just playing around and was told it's 1533 miles to my destination and that I would arrive in 1 day and zero hrs

It's a site that is "Open Architecture" which means it's still in development. I only use it for altitude and grade information.

The interesting thing about the site is if you click and drag the little man in the lower right corner to a selected spot you can use Google Earth to view the area. It is rather touchy as to how well you place it, but with practice you can actually look at the locations.

Well anyone still running or planning to, for this area?

We're at over a Million acres of burned ground-- and still counting. That's bigger than the state of Rhode Island.
Going to the Sun Road (Glacier) is closed. Many of the campgrounds have been closed as well. Not sure it's 100 % but it's a lengthy list.

We got caught with Hwy 200 being closed suddenly at Rogers Pass the other day and had to do a couple hundred miles for a pass that was open to get home.

What a season. Now we're sitting at home safe at 30-40 miles from the closest fire. But pretty much surrounded, so we're just sitting here in thick smoke. Fires won't likely be out til significant snow fall. This state is going to be so different next spring when we get back out to see all the char. [emoji33][emoji22]

Sam, we are in OR now, having spent time in Wa & ID in addtn to MT & UT this year. All still/again burning. I84 is closed west of Portland.

You are right: what a bad year.

The fires are bad as it is, just hope they don't get a lot of rain after the fires are out!

Stripe34, I heard that Eastbound out of Portland I-84 was closed, are you saying that the fires are now west of Portland? This is all (fires and hurricanes) so sad.

Well apparently I'm a ditz- I meant EAST of Portland. Sorry for the confusion.

Will Montana be damaged enough by these fires that it will not be back up and running next August/September? I am mainly referring to Glacier NP.

Stripe it really is a horrid year! I think New England is the last great place at this point. I've been in MT (home base), Idaho, a nip of Washington, and Oregon all in the last week. Lots of smokey dirt. None of it enjoyable. Haze was thick at best on one night, but it's really chainsaw thick. Terribly concerning.

Deuce, exactly!! I don't think folks realize what that would really do. (Whistling). Mud sah-lides with no end. So not good! Snow would help more with less damage I believe.

We've done a few earthquakes here in the driveway (June? July? That seems so long ago now!!) then the fires, then the hurricanes... I think we are ready for 2018, I'm just not sure what things will look like topographically when the day comes.

At this point we keep things ready to bug out (even just to find clean-r air) at an hours notice.

Not . A . Good . Summer.
