Daytona Bike Week - 2016
OK Guys...
You were such a big help with my http://www.irv2.com/forums/f38/sturg...-a-210793.html thread... I want to start another one for Daytona Bike Week - 2016
Seeing as we are going to the 75th Anniversary of Sturgis.. it only made sense for us to go to the 75th Anniversary of Daytona Bike week.. Also, it doesn't hurt that we are going to leave cold Wisconsin for sunny/warm Florida in March ..
So.. I'm looking for the "411" on where to stay... Again.. we aren't the biggest of party animals.. we don't need to be in the thick of things.. but we would like to be close enough to enjoy...
We'd like to have a FHU site.. but not a deal breaker..
Hopefully, like the Sturgis thread.. we can talk about what to do.. what to see.. what NOT to do.. and generally have some good camaraderie during the lead up to the week... I've thoroughly enjoyed chatting with other forum members on the Sturgis thread and I'm guessing this one will be the same..

We like staying at Daytona Flea market. They have no hookup area as well as a water/electric area. Swap meet on site as well as the stuff at the flea market. The speedway is maybe 1/2 mile away, Main st and Beach Street are a straight shot. Cabbage patch is down the back road and you can get to Ormond via back roads.
The KOA on Nova Rd in Port Orange is a biker friendly spot with full hookups. We've also stayed at new Smyrna - a bit further, about 17 miles south, but not a bad ride.

I like Bulow RV Resort. It is off I95 one exit north of Destination Daytona. It is wooded and relaxing. It is an Encor rv park. It is near "the loop", Flagler Beach, and Destination Daytona, the giant HD dealership.

Fresh off of the 75th Sturgis, I'm ready to start planning the 75th Daytona Bike Week..
I'm wondering if anyone has opinions of staying near the dealership.. Does anyone have any information on Sunshine Holiday Daytona RV Resort
Let the planning begin !!!!

I live across the street. It is a resident owned park. Not a resort but not bad. Not many open full hookup sites but have dry camping in a nicely wooded area.

Get mufflers for your motorbikes. Every year I gotta hear the childish exhibitionists roaring by on A1A, just a block from my home. I swear, they're like a bunch of 8 year olds with baseball cards in their bicycle spokes.

Menendez... good luck with that one...
So.. I basically have two referrals... Bulow RV & the Flea Market...
Since we'll likely be there for a week.. we'd like to have full hook ups.. It worked out well for Sturgis... figured I'd try for the same in Daytona..
I checked out the cost of Sunshine Holiday RV Resort and its not cheap.. I think it's near $100+ per day... I think Bulow is close behind.. I'm not apposed to paying... just want to make sure I'm getting the best bang for my buck...
Keep the suggestions coming !!

Would you consider Bulow to be big rig friendly? I'm considering an overnight there and don't want to unhook the car. (42 feet plus toad.)

No problem for big rigs. Lots of room at Bulow.

Thinking about going, may just trailer down to be safe weather wise. And sleep in my 12' Enclosed Trailer. So my main thing would be a nice bath house. Electric would be nice, but have a generator
