Daytona Bike Week

I'm making plans for the spring rally in Daytona. Looking at Harris RV park they want like $ 900 for the week. my other choice will be Speedway KOA. don't know their rate. This will be my first time I want to be close to the night life. any other ideas,

Dave,

We have gone to FL every March for about 5 years. My Sister lives in Edge Water which is south of Daytona. We also spend some time at New Smyrna Beach and there are always a lot of bikers there.

This may be to far for you to travel but there are a lot of bikers in the area and also several night spots where they tend to gather. No it's not Daytona but it's not that far away and there's still a lot of biker activity. It's also a nice drive up to the Daytona area and after all isn't that's what it's all about doing a lot of biking???

We stay for the entire month of March and it's about $600. Their daily rate is higher at around $50 a day but that's still less than $900 for a week. The campground is right on route 1 and on the ICWW. There are always a few bikers that stay in the CG for the week and they motor on up to Daytona.

The CG does not have a web sight but if you are interested I can send you a phone number and a contact person. Just PM me.

We've stayed at New Smyrna a few times and found the ride acceptable, but it's about 15 miles or so from Main St. The KOA on South Nova RD was a good spot too. About as close to downtown as anywhere else. If you don't need full hookups, the flea market has sites without any utilities and also has them with electric and water. That is where we stay most often. Best price and a straight shot to Main St and close to the track. Regardless of where you chose, pick up a map of the local area and use the back roads. The main roads are too crowded and it gets hot on the bike.
