My turn to ask.

Can anyone recommend a state park near Daytona for February 3-6? Plenty of sites available at a couple different parks in the area, but hard to pick one with only a short paragraph about each park online.

Tamoka seems to be closest, just go with it?

(We'll be camping in our 31' Class A, it should fit about anywhere. Electric hookup is a near must, 2 1/2 month old son coming with us. Might have a small toad or a rental car to get to work, I'll be there on business. Mom's going to hang out at the park, so it'd be nice if she had something to do at the park too.)

Thanks!

(And, we'll definitely be sneaking over to Disney, looks like there plenty of sites available around February 1-3. Gotta re-read some of the posts here, we may see some of you.)

Tomoka State Park would be a good choice, it's only about 9 miles north of Daytona in Ormond Beach. Another nice one is Blue Spring State Park in Orange City, about 30 miles to the west of Daytona.

Both are nice and I'm sure you'll enjoy either one.

Tomoka is nice. Lot of little critters running around in this campground so watch where you step. Whichever campground you chose get a reservation they seem to stay full.

We're going to try Blue Spring. Did a drive through Sunday. Exactly what we want. Quiet, lots of privacy. Only dilema is that the Manatees are only there during colder weather. Warm weather is nice, but it'd be nice to see the Manatees too. We picked Blue Spring over Tomoka for the Manatees, but I hate to hope for cold weather!

Try Encore Resorts in Ormond Beach,,,Its about 10-15 from Daytona clean and has full hook ups.(E,W & cable) and has a heated pool for mom to relax in or by during day. Just stayed there over Christmas....nice park.would go back.

Manatee should be still there in Feb. We live about 20 miles from there and have been to see them many times. Also they have a pontoon boat ride on the St. John's River that you can take on the weekends.
