You might check bear creek campground owned by city of Lakewood. Near Morrison Colorado. Close to C470. Convenient to all of Denver and route into the mountains.

Wife and I stayed at Clear Creek in Golden last September when we visited family there. Can be a tough reservation as it's not a large CG, but it's well worth the try in our opinion. FHUs, right on Clear Creek, and easy walking distance to downtown Golden. It is a little tight, but we easily fit in our 36' Class A (with 3' bike rack extended from hitch in back). Also an easy drive to Denver proper. We really liked/enjoyed the place and will definitely try to reserve there again next time we return to visit

Bear Creek Lake Park is a City of Lakewood campground that has 30/50A electric hookups, water, dump, showers, cabins, and yurts. The park has a swim beach, playground, horseback riding, archery range, bike paths, kayak rental, and no wake boating. I live in Lakewood and it's where I kayak and fish.
