We plan to use the DW transportation for the very reasons you mentioned. Love the EPCOT acronym. We will definately ask for an easy back in site. This will be our big vacation for 2007. Thanks again for your advice!!

We just returned yesterday from a week at DW although not at FW. The night before you enter whatever park you're going to the next day sit with the park map and plot your route for the attractions you're interested in. By doing this you'll save yourself ALOT of wandering/walking. Be sure and pick up the daily events sheet at each park so you'll know the times for shows, parades and so forth. Call ahead and see if there are any specal events going on. Since it was Christmas time for us there were lots of special shows that required reservations and sometimes extra money. We parked the car and didn't use it again til we left. Disney transportation is fine. The drivers are helpful and you can just sit back and relax. It is abit of a mouse maze on the roads there. For us nights and mornings were cool so we started with lightweight jackets that easily folded up and went into our bags. We also had lightweight hooded rain ponchos that we used to put on any wet benches after a rain shower and to wear during. Yes, it rained on us some. No matter what wear the most comfortable clothes you own. We opened the park in the mornings and most nights closed the park so our days were long, very long. We did take one day to just shop and hopped from park to park. No way were we going to carry shopping bags and ride or go to the shows.

Oh we were three senior ladies traveling without our DH. We rode all major rides plus most all in each park, saw all the parades, all the stage shows that were operating, did the special shows for Christmas, all light shows, visited Downtown Disney, had tea at the Grand Floridian etc. You just have to plan your days carefully.

Hi Steve,
DW is spendy only if one does not find value for their $s spent. For me it is well worth the $s and I find value in how DW has always presented their property and attractions.

That sounds like the "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" deal. In my feeble mind I just can't justify the rates they charge for a camp site. I've been their and it is very nice, just not my cup of tea.

But as I always say " if it feels good, do it "

It truly seems to be an issue where "the beauty is in the eye of the beholder" as I've even considered stopping through FW just to use the campground....

Everyone is certainly entitled to their own likes and dislikes, that's why there are so many different flavors of ice cream!

Steve, like someone mentioned earlier, the CGs in orlando are raising their prices. This trip we actually paid less to stay at FtW than at KOA in kissimmee.

As for the driving versus DW transportation. We have found that leaving the parks at the end of the day there is a long line waiting for the bus. We could be in our car and on our way before we could get on the bus. And we have been on standing room only busses at the end of a long tiring day too many times that we now drive. At Epcot, AK and MGM, we park just as close as we would get off the bus at. We never wind up on a tram, just walk right in. We also never have probs with DW trans in the morning. It is just the long lines and standing room only in the evening that get us into our own car. If you leave before or after everyone else, it is not so bad though. We also have 5 kids, so being in our own van is easier than getting them all on and off the bus.

Now, to Magic Kingdom, the boat is the only way to go. If you drive, you have to park at the TTC and then take a boat or monorail to MK, the boat takes you straight from the marina at FtW to the MK entrance. It is totally cool. Also, if you don't have little kids, the busses are easier.

As for the Fort itself, there is a hitch/unhitch area if you are in a big rig and have a toad. There are also a couple of pull through sites if you are worried about backing in. The loops are narrow. In Feb it was a nightmare backing in. This past trip, it was a breeze because we were on a corner and it wasn't so tight. We will request a corner next time. There are only a couple of pull throughs so far, so they will book up fast. Also know that the pull thrus don't look as private.
