Durango Colorado Area

Thank you all for the great info. We are virtually scouting each location to see which better suits us.
Hopefully I will be picked up with the US Forestry Service soon, and my mate will be able to find a position teaching deaf and hard or hearing students .

Westerly RV Park, just north of Durango on US 550. Small privately owned park. We have stayed there many times. Nice park and less money than the rest.

I have never been out there, but have spent a lot of time on Google Maps scoping the area out.

There is an RV park in Ignacio, south east of Durango, 24 mile drive says Google Maps, it is at the Fair Grounds, has full hook ups and is $525 per month with a $100 deposit. This campground is on Southern Ute tribal land and according to Campgroundreviews.com is closed. I would make phone calls if you are interested and see if they may be reopening it in the next couple of months. The tribal lands have been very tight on Covid-19 restrictions.

There is only one review on Campendium and it is one star with the only comment being "month to month only" which according to the web site is not correct as they have daily and weekly rates. The reviewer gave no other info, so I have doubts about the review and would not depend on it.

We stayed at Dolores River RV Park in July, loved the park so much we went back in Sept. About 45 minutes from Durango, we spent one day biking the river path which runs about 10 miles along the river and downtown. I think they're closed during the winter but it had the cleanest bathrooms I've ever seen, fishing ponds, yurts and Calistoga wagons to rent. Favorite park ever, 15 miles north of Cortez and Mesa Verde Nat. Park, maybe 1 hour south of Teluride.
