East Utah to Ridgway, CO - which route?

We are exploring SE Utah for a couple weeks before heading back to CO. Trying to figure out which road will be a more relaxing drive without adding too much time/gas to our route.

We were thinking about heading out of Montecello, UT on 491 then turning north on 141 then 145/62 to Ridgway. Or we could head south to Delores, CO and pick up 145 north to 62 to Ridgway.

We do have the mountains directory so we have info on the grades etc. Looking for info on the feel of the drive, scenery etc.

Thanks!

As we've driven RT 145 and would tend to go out of our way to do it again and again - I'd recommend it- You get a Beautiful Road and Will drive by Lizard Head Pass/Trout Lake and even Dunten, before running by Telluride.

IMHO this is just a Beautiful and Enjoyable drive,

Best of Luck,

....

We've done both routes and both are scenic. If you've never driven 145 I'd suggest that as it's a little more so. Since you want to save gas/time, pick the shortest, naturally.

Thanks! We'll go for 145 then!

Appreciate the opinions!
