Get ready to enjoy a lot of nothing, flat dry (normally), but we have had a bunch of water this month
Enjoy

The climb up toward Guadalupe Peak is one of the most beautiful views I have seen in our nine years of traveling!

Good road. We do it every fall but the other direction. Make sure you have fuel leaving ELP as there is nothing out there. Even the store in Salt Flat is closed now. If I’m not mistaken Roy Orbison grew up there.

180 is a wonderful route. Stop at Guadalupe Nat'l Park for a night or two.

Agree on wonderful drive, can be a bit windy on the pass. Guadalupe Mt NP is one of our favorites. Keep in mind all RVS camp in a striped parking lot with no connections of any kind. We stop all the time and enjoy easy access to mountain trails right in the parking lot.

Bottom of the pass is the road to Dell City, very very small farming community that has a gas station, grocery store and bar.... that it.
