Encore Resorts Keeping All Deposits

Yep, I fully understood the deposit rules at the Mesa Spirit Resort when I booked a site last month, for arrival next week.

BUT Mesa Spirit Resort has closed all the pools and amenities, and to add to the problem, my state is under a "do not travel" order.

Arizona in March without a pool? And no courts nor clubhouses? No showers?
What are we supposed to do, sit in the rig?

BAD decision on Encore's part. Keep my deposit money, it's the last you will ever get...

Interesting, From what I understand Gov Inslee has yet to implement a travel ban, but thats a discussion for another time as well as the fact that someone from the state / area that is ranked 2nd in the country for Deaths and Infections is still wanting to travel amazes me.

From what I see, their policies are fair.... Its not like this crisis popped up over night..... Just saying

had a similar issue with them 2-years ago. tore the meniscus in my knee, called and asked to move our reservation ahead to the following year. they asked for physician's documentation. sent them the whole package. they did not move the reservation and kept the deposit. I might['ve been more understanding if they just refused and kept the deposit. which is why, after 20-some years of staying with them in the spring, we waved buh-bye and found another park in the area.

If youíre not already on the road youíll soon learn that the answer to your final question here is, Yes. I donít want to start a fight nor sound like a naysayer, but just about anywhere in the country that you travel right now youíll run into the same thing. Iím in Orlando. No pool, no shower houses, no activities, no amusement parks, no nothing but family time, walks around the park and watching tv inside the 90į heat and humidity. Thatís the world that we are living in at this point in time. Yea, it sucks, but it is what it is.

As for Encore, thatís a different story. Iíve got a reservation coming up with them on 4/1 and hoping they donít cancel me! Iím sorry that theyíre keeping your deposit/ first day rent.

I am disappointed to hear this...we won't be staying there. In this pandemic, we should get our deposits back since no one should be traveling if avoidable.

We are in a Encore park with everything shut down too.

Since many in the county are out of work or hunkerd down, while health care and law enforcment professionals are out risking getting the virus, the least I can do is not complain about a lack of a swimming pool, free coffee and mini golf or getting my deposit back.

You don't know, maybe Encore will get your money back when thing calm down.

Not every complaint ought to be met with "do you just want old people to DIE?!"

He was sold a product in advance. The product isn't going to be delivered. There are good reasons why that is happening, but there is no good reason why the buyer needs to be the one to absorb the loss.

Didn't make reservations "overnight", so hold your amazement.

We're at our California place...(sorry you assumed otherwise), so it's not a discussion of travel from Washington. Our Encore reservations are months old, and obviously we have decided not to travel as things have progressed. At our park in California, even under the strictest stay-at-home guidelines in the country, the pools and sports courts are available. The restaurant has take-out, the mail is delivered, the golf course is open. No personal contact, of course. These amenities are being deemed safe for use.

Not so much with Encore.

Actually, healthy outdoor activity is encouraged by the experts. That includes swimming, golf, walks, and bicycling. Yep, all with social distancing.

Considering the many life altering events of the past few weeks in this country and the world, the loss of a deposit for an RV space might be considered a bit trivial to those who are not nearly as fortunate at this moment in time, as you seem to be.
Many are wondering what or even if they will eat tomorrow. Or they are losing their job, their career, possibly their home/apartment, a cherished loved one, or maybe even their own life. Kind of puts things...in perspective.

Encore's corporate level greed will come back to bite them.
