Erie, PA

I am looking to make my first trip to Erie in a couple of weeks and I am looking for advice on a campground to select. I was attempting to go to lampe family campground, but apparently they have too much money and don't want mine (since they don't return phone calls). Sara's 'I'm far to busy to keep a reservation calendar' has also been scratched. I am preferring to stay reasonably close to lake erie, as well as within a moderate drive to erie attractions (such as the zoo). Look forward to any help you guys pass along! Thanks a bunch.

We found the Erie KOA to be very nice. We stayed there on our way to and from MI last fall. It is not near the lake, but it seemed like the ride only took minutes.httphttp://koa.com/campgrounds/erie/://
Some folks that were staying there on our return trip said that they had stayed at Virginia's Beach in the past but could not get a reservation on that trip. http:/http://virginiasbeach.com//

Thanks for the reply. I had looked at both of those and considered each. Going through past posts, it seems everyone says good things about lampe. After several attempts and messages, I managed to get to speak to them and make reservations.
