Faver-Dykes State Park St Augustine, Florida

Anyone been here ? Like to, but heard the 2 mile or so, dirt road to the park can be quit bad ?

It is sand...with lots of dips in the road. The scrub oaks grow on angles, so even though your wheels clear them...the ridge of the roof may not, so just keep scanning. I've been there in our 30' fifth wheel. It wasn't difficult, just go slow. I would recommend arriving/departing during daylight hours so you can see everything clearly.

They have nice trails...are covered up with wildlife...and convenient access to St. Augustine.

We also liked Anastasia SP. The spots are a little close in places...but check the outdoor music hall next door. You can listen to a decent concert from the campsite...If someone you like is in concert there.

We stayed at Anastasia-very close to Fayver Dikes. They both have dirt roads, both are State Parks. Both on the Ocean

We never stayed at a bad Fla Park-you really can't miss.

We want to go in January to see the lights in Saint Augustine , been to Anastasia, and like it, but no opening when we can go. So looking for other affordable places.
