Fires Northwest of Granby, CO?
Planning to do some boondocking/trail riding in the Arapahoe Nat'l forest after Labor Day northwest of Granby. I know there are/have been some fires in the area, anyone have any specific info? TIA

Here's an official source of fire information for the U.S. Check it often as you travel because there may be changes.

Thanks, TwoGypsies, just the info I needed, looks like it is quite a ways from where we will be.

I believe the fire is farther west closer to Grand Junction. That's where it was when we left CO last week.

The Governor just issued a state wide fire ban (no open fires). A dangerous season.

There is a fire on the Williams Fork River, just west of the Fraser-Winter Park area that you will go through if you use US 40. Today the Denver metro area is covered by smoke from the Cameron Peak fire northwest of Fort Collins (and due north of Granby). So, you will not have the fires too close, but you may have more smoke than you care to breathe.
