First “real” trip
We’ve camped locally for many years, but are about to travel to Texas for a month. I’ve seen posts about staying a nite at Walmart, campgrounds, or truck stops but nothing about hotels for a nite. Any advice?

Why? If your rig is self contained would you need a motel?
Now, if we had some info on you're RV it might give us a clue.
We usually wallydocked for two nights on the way, then were either at our destination or stopped at a campground.
Paid $1,000's to be self contained and be able to sleep in my own bed, don't need the motels now.

if you're traveling during winter then you may very well want to stop at a motel. that's what we're doing for the first 2-3 nights of our upcoming trip. the issue will be where to park. we're 60' total length and so I searched for motels that have truck parking. the AllStays Truck & Travel app lets you search for motels with truck parking.

No motels for me. That was one of the factors in choosing a MH so I don’t have to stay in motels when traveling.
Keep Cracker Barrel as an option. Alway a good place (with permission) to dry camp and have a nice breakfast before shoving off in the morning!
Good luck.

You don't seed motel information because this is a RV site.

Fill the Coach up with Water and Fuel - Dump the tanks - Learn to take Quick Showers - You are driving a CONDO on Wheels.
Why would you even think of a Motel????????????????
https://www.allstays.com/c/wal-mart-locations.htm
Just call ahead and use what so many others use - every third or forth day hit a CG and refill and dump.
Use the generator - use the Coach enjoy the trip.

IN 10 month (over the last 18) and 15,000 miles of being in the RV we have stayed at a motel just once and that was when we could not extend our slide (need to do so to use the bed) and it was after the RV dealer was closed. So motel for the night and at the dealer at 8am. Back on the road in the afternoon.
