Flint Creek Water Park in Wiggins, MS
Hi all,
We'll be attending a 3 day clay conference in Wiggins, Mississippi in late May. Naturally, we'd like to take the RV. I found the Flint Creek Water Park in my RV Road Atlas and by doing an online google search. This is a public park, and is part of the local water management district. It looks pretty good and the reviews seem okay although the quality of the individual sites seems variable from what I read in reviews. Since we'll be gone all day long the only real issue is not getting one of the rally unlevel sites.
If anyone has firsthand information on staying here - good or bad - I'd appreciate hearing it. I found info in the reviews on a couple of nice sites as well as a couple to avoid.
This is one of the reasons I love having the RV now. Before, we'd have had to get someone to come and stay with the cats. Now we can just take them with us. Another big bonus - we get to sleep in our own bedbug-free bed.

FL Fran,
We have not stayed at Wiggins, but we have stayed at other Pat Harrison WP's. We have found them to be very similiar to COE parks, GREAT. The review on:
RV Park Reviews :: Wiggins, Mississippi ( MS ) - RV Parks and Campground Reviews
seem to agree. Some of the water parks take Passport America at certain times. Based on our recent experiences in MS, I would never hesitate to use a water park or state park. MS is simply doing a wonderful job as compared to some other states.

I hope someone has current info also. We toured the place about 12 years ago. It was a mixed bag but it did appear that they had sites that could accommodate most rv's. We plan on stopping in the area in June & August.

Bob,
Thanks for the reply.
We're trying to decide between here and Perk Beach RV Park and Campground. Either one would work, location-wise.
Hope to decide by this weekend and get our reservations made so there's one less thing to worry about.

A friend of mine stayed there for military training. I seem to remember him saying the sites were bare and a little close, somewhat like a parking lot. He also had any problems and there was no wifi. His family loved the park when they visited. He moved to another park when they left because he wanted shade and wifi. I will try to find out where he moved to and give you some info. He is a little hard to contact now since he is flying in Afghanistan at the moment.
I need to say that we are somewhat spoiled by our local Corp of Engineer built parks along the Tenn-Tom waterway so other parks don't always measure up. If you are in the Columbus, MS area, come stay in our back yard at the Dewayne Hayes campground. It has just over 100 sites so big that other parks would put 3-4 sites in all with trees, 4 playgrounds, boat ramp, fishing docks, private loops and a kids sprayground.

That would be "ant problems". Curses on the iPhone.

Teachrz,
Thanks for the reply. One of the reviews I read also mentioned ants. Fortunately they weren't biters, just pests. Still, I wouldn't want them getting in the RV.
