Florida Camping with Thousand Trails

Hello all! Would love your expert advice… We are thinking of making a trip to Florida next summer in 2024. We’re considering adding the trails collection to our thousand trails membership. How likely am I to be able to get high demand encore resorts 60 days out? Is it even a possibility that I should consider? Or should we just plan on staying other places?

Are state campgrounds a year in advance a possibility?

Thanks much!

During summer I'd expect the odds are in your favor. Most RV parks are like a ghost town in summer months, except for permanent residents.

It depends on the park. Thanksgiving 2021 we could get into Sunshine Keys, 2022 we could not get into Sunshine Keys. In 2022 Thanksgiving we could get into Lake Magic, plenty of open spaces.
Check and see when "high demand" apply for the parks you want.
Orlando TT high demand is mid-December to March 31st.
Peace River high demand period is the same.
I am seeing the "high demand" time period is in the wintertime period.

I agree with Ray. I know things have changed, but just under 10 years ago, we stayed at the Thousand Trails about 1/2 - 1 mile from Disney, and it really was a ghost town! I suspect that once the snow birds leave in February-March, spots are not as hard to come by, but of course things may have changed.
