Florida For 4 - 6 Weeks

We also like to travel spontaneously and don't generally make advance reservations (we do reserve some weeks in advance when we go to Myrtle Beach in the shoulder seasons). Last winter we drove across I-10 from Jacksonville to Tucson and made no advance reservations except two weeks or so in advance of arriving in Tucson. This was in Jan and Feb. We stay in Pensacola, San Antonio, Kerrville, Benson, AZ and Tucson. We stayed another two weeks at Navarre Beach on the way back in early March.

This year we decided to try Florida and started trying to find a place on the West coast in July. We finally got on a waiting list for a newly expanded RV park in Bradenton. We were called in November with confirmation for a 5 week stay there. We generally don't stay in any one place for that long so it will be interesting to see if we enjoy it. We do plan to drive up to the Tampa RV show.

Not sure where we will go in mid Feb when we leave that park.

So here I sit with less than a week of February to go and I haven't made it to Florida yet. Back surgery at Thanksgiving went good, but still not recovered enough to lift more than 30lbs. Guess I'm not going to make it this year.

So the plan now is a couple weeks in early May for some beach time and to scout out some possibilities for next winter. I will be checking out some of the places that have been suggested. I know I should be booking now, but booking this far in advance doesn't work to good for me. Guess we'll see what happens.
