Florida Keys- RV Parks to Check Out

Retirement around the corner. Going to take quick trip flying into Miami, renting a car and driving to Key West over 2 days. Will spend 3 days in Key West.
Would like to stop along the way and look at RV parks for future RV trip.
Looking for recommendations to review RV parks. Any special places we should stop along the way?

Sunshine Key and Fiesta Key are Encore/1000 trails resorts. I had escorted tours.

The State parks, Curry Hammock, Bahia Honda, John Pennekamp will charge you to enter.

Key Largo has a number of camp grounds, all packed in like sardines.

Haven't toured the Key West places, very expensive.

I stayed in Marathon for 7 winters on our boat but now stay at Miami Everglads RV resort for the winters and take 2 week stays at the state parks and occasional day trips to the Keys.

Jolly Roger in Marathon (will be there in 2 weeks). We are staying at Sugarloaf KOA next January. We are also going to try the new Sun Resort in Islamorada. As stated, the list can be nearly endless.

Definitely stop in at Blue Water Key RV resort at Mile Maker 14.5. ( 10 miles from Key West) each site has it's own tiki.

Duplicating what others have said but here you go -

1. Blue Water just outside Key West is amazing. Private owner spots with tiki huts and docks for the waterside spots. Very secluded. While there check out Hog Fish grill on Stock Island. Off the Key West beaten path but worth a stop for lunch.
2. We were just at Grassy Key RV Resort last week for a couple night. Small place with a few spots right on the ocean. Plenty of dockage if you rent a small boat. Small pool and not much else for amenities. No dog park but we found a large, clean dog park in Marathon - 5 miles away.
3. We have stayed a couple times at Key Palms RV Resort at mile marker 104 in Key Largo. One of the first spots when you hit the keys. They also have waterfront spots. A large heated pool and nice beachy area for Sundown cocktails.

Those three are smaller and on the high end of the price range.

Fiesta Keys & Sunshine are Encore parks. In 2021 we could get in with our Trails Collection but in 2022 we could not get in for the Thanksgiving time period. The allot slots for Thousand Trails members was already full at the 60-day time period.
On the way down we stayed at Jolly Rogers on Marathan, it is a nice park, great views of the water from their relaxation area.

All Good Info

Thanks, folks, for the input.
The Mrs. retired this week and this is sort of a celebration. (She says I have to wait so I am not in the way)
Now to find the right hotel on the way down. Thinking somewhere around Islamorada.

Sunshine has rental RV set-up in the park. Sunshine is on Ohio Key, about 38 miles north of Key West.
