Florida RV parks now posting status updates on FB

Since many of us are wondering how our winter sites have fared, this link from the Florida RV Parks & Campground Association may help. Campgrounds are posting their own status and pics: https://www.facebook.com/campflorida

Some are OK and open, some are working on restoring operations, and some others have been wiped out. Peace River Campground in Arcadia is completely under deep water.

From the above Facebook link:

Sad Update: Peace River Campground
Peace River Campground

We are closed until further notice. We don't have any way to handle cancelations and refunds as we have lost the entire campground to the flood. We don't have computers or power as it's all under water. Please be patient as we work to get back on our feet. In due time, you will see a refund on your account.

(The pic they showed was water just about covering the office roof!)

Torrey trails

Thanks for the update. We are not on Facebook and have reservations for January - April. How bad is the area , aside from Arcadia?

I depends on where you are headed.... some areas had very minor tree damage, others underwater.

As usual, it depends. The Ranch at Arcadia Palms RV Resort had power and water back before October 1st. They posted this on Sept. 30th:

Hello everyone, Our buildings and the pool all fared very well, Everything was designed to withstand hurricane impact forces and the structures have passed the test. Even the palm trees have done very well and the rest of the landscaping we have some cleanup and miscellaneous repairs but nothing of any real consequence. We are currently open and first responders contractors and insurance adjusters are our main guests right now.

You need to list the specific places you're asking about and then someone may be able to offer guidance.

If you're asking about Torrey Trails Golf and RV Resort, they apparently had little damage and posted this two days ago:

Despite Hurricane Ian, we are standing tall and construction hasn’t stopped on phase 2. We’re busy landscaping and waiting on the electrical company to finish repairs from the hurricane and come back to power more lots

Thanks Ray. I was kind of curious about the area west toward St Petersburg. I appreciate your input
