Question Florida State Parks?

We've never stayed in a Florida State Park, only in Fort Wilderness in Disney, on our visits from Michigan. We'd like to find a nice state park near Jacksonville Beach for a few nights next March or April of 2018 to visit my brother. Any advice on parks and site numbers? We have a 40' diesel pusher towing a jeep. Do we reserve through Reserve America?

Ft Clinch State Park would work for you. We are 43 ft plus a toad and had no issues. We were at one of the beach side spots. They also have a wooded area. Not sure of the site #'s- check ReserveAmerica for site details. Once you decide when you want to go, get on Reserveamerica at 08:00 11 months in advance of the date of arrival to reserve your spot, otherwise you may be out of luck as the sites at our popular parks go very quickly.

I don't know that area but agree 100% with PanJH on reserving at 8am very far in advance. This is the only way I can get sites here on the west central and south west coast of Fl.

Florida Parks

Very difficult to get into Florida State Parks until April when most of the snowbirds leave.

Along with Fort Clinch one of our favorites (I would stay at the ocean sites though more open the views of the dunes and ocean out your window is amazing). Also take a look at Anastasia state park in St. Augustine. This park is also one of our favorites. We stayed at both this past January (Anastasia with reservations of 4 months ago and Ft. Clinch as a walk in that day and stayed 4 days).

This would be a good place to start.

Also, not state, but City of Jacksonville, Hanna City Park Campground | Near Jacksonville Florida

And no, I have not stayed there, but have read nice things about it.

We've stayed at Silver Springs and really enjoyed it. Just east of Ocala. The FHU drive thru site we were given could've held three 40' Rv's.
