Florida Walmart overnight stop??
We are headed to Key West soon, wondering if anyone has stopped overnight at Walmart in Port Saint Lucie or Fort Pierce. We have never pulled in for overnight stop at a Walmart, but i know we will probably be ready for a few hours sleep, coming from Arkansas. We would appreciate any input. Thanks Curtis & Jackie.

Be sure to call ahead and ask.
Some Walmarts do not allow overnight parking.

Hi Jbgrams,
It sounds like you will be traveling down I75 and then taking the Fla Turnpike down to route 1. If this is true and you are really looking for a few hours of sleep, consider staying on the Turnpike and stop at one of their rest areas (service plazas). There is one near Ft. Pierce. They are lighted and patrolled at night. Mile post 144 is for the Ft. Pierce area and a little farther south at mile post 94 is the West Palm service plaza. Both of these plazas are full service plazas. Go to Florida's Turnpike - The Less Stressway™ | Traveler Information | Service Plazas for more information.

There also is a Flying J in St. Lucie I95 exit 131. It can get full up for RV parking though.

Thank you all for the helpful information. Staying at the turnpike service area sounds like it may be the best idea for us, I didn't even realize this was an option, I thought it was prohibited. I guess all they can do is ask us to move on if not allowed. Again, thanks to all, Curtis & Jackie
