FlyingJ overnight parking
I'll stay at a Walmart occasionally but I don't hear much about FlyingJ.
Many of their locations have RV parking for overnight use. They also state on their website that RVers are welcome to overnight at any FlyingJ if a spot is available.
Anybody have experience with this?

We've never Boondock at a commercial facility. We prefer the CG. However if I were in a situation where it was necessary, flying J would be my choice. However my experience is that not all of their stores lend themselves well designed dedicated parking space. I've seen stores that have ample room and it would be safe for the MH. I've seen other stores where the design was so tight that I would worry about the safety of the MH because of the potential for other drivers nit being able to maneuver around me.

I've always used Wal-Mart. I've been to a few Flying J place with RV/Truck parking but they were charging a fee for the night.

Done it, do it, no problems.
The only issues are the noise from the 18 wheelers and lights.

Aluminum foil made into a hat will quiet down the noise from the lights... I keep one with me at all times

If you like being shoehorned in between idling diesel engines all night, with the occasional sound of a big truck pulling out at all hours of the night then Flying J is a great place to camp out, many even have 24 hour dining.

We have overnighted at many FJ locations across the country. Some locations have adequate space in front for RV spaces but most do not. You can stay back with the trucks if there is space. I have never seen a FJ with a charge to overnight.
I prefer big box RV friendly stores with big lots. Many times you can park out at the outside edge of the lot & open slides over the curb.

Recently overnighted at a FJ in Cal that had about a dozen RV parking spots out front. Ten of those spots were filled with semi's.

I have overnighted in Flying J & TA truck stops. Too much noise from idling trucks. Never again

I preferred Flying J for overnight stops.
Never used the RV spots as they were too small or filled.
I preferred to park along the curb headed for the exit.
Parked with the trucks also.
No problems.
Walmart parking lots were too difficult to navigate.

Use them often, try to park in front RV spots but it''s tight.
If you swing to back with the trucks try and find a curb spot you can have a lot of privacy and less noise.
If you park next to or between trucks try and have your bedroom opposite their tractor with their diesels running.
can get a quick cup of coffee in the morning too
Walmart's are good 80% of the time too if large and other RV's.
once in while Cracker Barrel if you pull in late after the dinner crowd, but sometimes we were the only one there, we left kinda strange.

I attempted to stay at one in Georgia a few months back. There were so many trucks shoehorned in there (50-75?), they actually had a guy directing traffic! It was a chaotic scene and nighttime to boot. There was one empty slot and I would have had to back in my 38-foot 5er between 2 trucks with maybe 12-inches to spare on each side. No thanks!

Stayed at a Flying J once, pretty noisy. Stayed a few times in different Wal-Marts, some experiences ok, others pretty busy and noisy. Those days I had a job, and was burning the candle at both ends trying to get somewhere fast. I'm retired now, try to get off the road much before dark..350-400 miles per day. No need for a midnight stop at FJ or Wally.
