Thanks to all for the excellent answers. Some of these places really do look immaculate.

I haven't looked at them all, but some beautiful places.

I don't know that we've stayed anywhere I would compare of a resort, even though they fill pages on their websites with how really lux their campgrounds are. Hah! That's you, Sun Resorts.

We normally choose campgrounds based on location to where we want to be, price, amenities (dog park mainly) in that order. We don't hang around the campground unless we've chosen a state park of COE park in the middle of no where.

I would like to once a trip stay at one of the more upscale parks; however, I think DH would have a stroke if the rate is more than $75 a night and can't be helped (when we finally go to CA). We have stayed a some places that have many amenities, in Sarasota we stay at Sun N Fun. All the bells and whistles and tons of rules. It is not as groomed and spectacular as you would think from their website. The main draw for us was location. On our cancelled Florida trip this spring we had reservations at several campgrounds on the west coast that looked extremely nice, I will let you know how nice when we try again next spring.

The Springs at Borrego Springs, Borrego Springs, CA. Very well maintained park, paved parking and patio, each site is raked after each guest. Nice pool, 4 small hot tubs, beautiful private showers. Surrounding golf course. Borrego Springs is surrounded by a state park with visitor center. Nice little town which has hardly changed in the forty years we have been going there.

Those guys are great. I was a long term resident there for a while and it was paradise as far as oilfield adjacent RV parks go.

Awesome, friendly staff, CLEAN, quiet, dog runs, wide spots with actual maintained grass, propane and trash valet. Kept the front third open for transients too.

Any one interested in running a first rate facility should go stay a while with those folks and see how it should be built and run.

Looking to check it out this Fall when the weather is cooler. Taking the road bikes.
