Fort Pickens

This is the new landscape at Fort Pickens. Definitely downsizing. The ranger I talked to at check in said itís ok to have your back jacks or levelers on the grass or off the pad. All tires must be on the pad. Very confusing when site info states a certain length. Site info doesnít state that you can hang back of motorhome or fifth wheel or trailer off pad.

Most public campgrounds don't have any restriction on overhanging the pad. Many private ones do, and a few public ones. I've been to Pickens several times and I don't recall any rules on it one way or the other. Seems most of the sites I've been in lately have trees or walls or something solid behind the site so overhanging it is impossible.
