Fredericksburg TX
We are in Fredericksburg TX tonight and decided to stay an extra day. We were just going to stay one night and move on, when we heard about a museum here. It is the World War II Pacific Museum. We spent the whole day there. It was amazing! If you get a chance stop here. Much to our surprise the down town is very nice too. Good places to eat and shop. Also for the one ticket you get into three buildings. Admiral Nimitz was born here and there is a wonderful place that explains his background. Veterans and spouse get in for 10.00 each. Well worth the time here. We stayed at the Oakwood RV Park which is just few miles from downtown.

X 4 on a fantastic museum. I never made it the hotel museum, but spent many hours going through the other two attractions. We spent two nights at the Fredericksburg RV park. We would have stayed a 3rd night but they were booked solid for the weekend . There was a Christmas parade scheduled.

We are heading down to Oakwood this Thursday for the weekend! Meeting sis-in-law for some wine tasting.
Probably going to rain.

Good to know. We are heading that way in a month or so. Want to visit Fredericksburg, San Antonio, and Austin.

The City of Fredericksburg has a great RV park located out by the airport where vintage planes operate out of. So much to do there you could spend a week there. Also for a day trip go to Kerrville TX and visit the original Gibson's Discount Center.

I'd suggest trying out some of the local wines, too. The city implemented an open container law so you can walk around with a white cup and sample from all the winery's storefronts.
Don't forget to eat at the Beergarten.

We went down to Ingram, Tx for a rally and was stunned when we went exploring around ingram in the jeep - a lot of it reminded us of the colorado scenery with rocks and cliff faces - nice

Just a note that the Texas White House is currently closed. From the website: "Until further notice, the Texas White House will be closed to tours due to health and safety concerns arising from structural issues. All other park facilities will remain open to the public".
