The Vineyards in Fredericksburg is a nice park that has been recently updated with new sites. It's very convenient to downtown.

I agree with Lt. Dan on the Vineyards. We’ve stayed there three times. Well run and enjoyable!

When we went to Fredricksburg last winter, we stayed in Buckhorn Lake Resort in Kerrville. It is about a 30 minute ride to Fredricksburg, but Buckhorn is a top-notch place. We have friends who live in Kerrville, so it was an easy choice for us.
By the way, the Pacific War Museum is the absolute best museum of any kind that we have ever visited. Do not miss it. And there are hundreds of wineries that have popped up there in the last 10-15 years. And german culture/food. I guess I could go on, but we like the area!
Regards.
Chuck

i'd recommend three parks in the area.
- Buckhorn Lakes RV Resort in Kerrville
- Fredericksburg KOA
- Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park Campground in F'burg
the hill country is beautiful.

I second this recommendation. Buckhorn is a great park. If you don't have kids ask to be put in the "Executive Section." No kids allowed but the sites are more deluxe.
It's close to Kerrville which is a nice town and not a bad drive to Fredricksburg.

We have stayed at the Fredricksburg RV Park and also visited friends at the Fredricksburg KOA. Both are OK but nothing special.
Be sure to visit the LBJ Ranch and the Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm at LBJ State Park. There is an LBJ National Park site to visit in the town of Johnson City.
Another nice newer park that is further away from Fredericksburg is Old River Road RV Resort

They have a KOA in town. I stayed there a few yeas ago. It was OK. I'm also heading that way next week. A friend recently stayed at Buckhorn Lake Resort in Kerrville which is about 30 minutes from Fredericksburg. He said it was nice. I'm planning on staying there.
edit. Sorry I was typing while others posted the same info.

Fredericksburg Camping
Hi there,
Our group (4 RV's) stayed at Fredericksburg RV Park a few weeks ago and it was great. Clean, well lit. Friendly staff.
We especially enjoyed how close it was to downtown.
Go for it!

We have stayed at the Vineyards and also Oakwood Rv resort. Opposite ends of town but both are convenient and good parks. My opinion is you won't go wrong either place or at any of the others mentioned.

We’ve stayed at Cedar Bliss? On hwy 87 just north of town. Small, quiet, at nite is pitch black dark. We had a 34 ft w/toad, it was a bit tight but doable. Full hookups, plus cable, no reception for antenna as the park in a deep valley. IIRC, the max capacity is less than a dozen spots.

Just hold onto your wallet, everything is expensive in F-burg, even the HEB has higher prices than Midland.....
