Free or low cost camping south of Tucson

We are renting a motor home the last week of February, that is equipped for Boondocking.
Any suggestions for nice, safe places to camp south of Tucson or around Phoenix?
We are going to several Cincinnati Reds games in Goodyear. Do they permit overnight parking in their stadium parking? It says there is a paved and grassy area that can accommodate 3,000 cars.

There is a BLM free camping in Tucson at Snyder Hill. There are national forest campgrounds in Tucson on Mt. Lemmon and south in Green Valley's Madera Canyon - Coronado National Forest. The Tucson Gem & Mineral Show will be the first 2 weeks of Feb. so things get crowded in town.

This site may help and you can use it to check out the Phoenix area. I don't know about overnight stadium parking.

Tucson is a 2 1/2 hour (at best) drive to the Goodyear area to see the Reds. If that is your main focus I suggest you look for something closer to Goodyear; although I am not aware of boondocking in that area. We stayed in Tucson last year and made the drive to Goodyear to visit friends and by the time we got there, visited a few hours, and then drove back to Tucson is was a very, very long day. Good luck

If you are doing the spring training thing you should look to the north of PHX to have any chance at "low cost".

We are starting in Tuscon, only because that’s where we found the best value motorhome to rent, that has lots of solar, an inverter, and plenty of battery power.

We found Buckeye campground just west of Goodyear; but, you can only reserve 2 days. There are no hookups, but looks like nice sites and trails for $20/ night.

We are going after that to Sedona for a couple days, then back to Tuscon.

Lake Pleasant has real nice camp grounds and will be convenient to Goodyear.
