Georgia Welcome Center I-95

After driving nearly 500 miles from the Keys we stopped at the Geo
rgia welcome center, I95 north at exit 1. We stayed about 12 hours (long but we were exhausted). We were not bothered whatsoever by anyone and they had a dump station. We dumped and pulled out around 645am. We could not have done it in the summer. Did not run genie and overnight Temps in high 60s so we opened windows. Overall a good experience for our first rest stop boondocking overnighter.

I have't done a rest area yet. I did my first truck stop last March. It was loud.

Did you put any slides out?

No. We had enough room without them.

Georgia is nice to travelers. There is a rest area on 75 (or 275) on the south end of Macon that has a dedicated area for RV parking. It’s a one-way road with parking on both sides and enough room to extend slides if you need. We’ve been to that one overnight and it was a good stop. You do have to get in earlier to get a spot and sometimes the trucks will go over there if the parking for them is full.

Next month we may stay at the welcome center on I20 coming in from Alabama. It looks spacious and will be a little more than halfway home from our upcoming trip to Red Bay to get our last Tiffin warranty work complete. I hope it is as friendly as the one we stayed at a few days ago.
