Getting excited about our ID/WY/MT trip!

Leaving in a little over two weeks. Been doing a lot of prep. Changed the oil and bled the brakes on moho (installed Speed Bleeders while I was at it), new shocks, front and rear trac bars, rebuilt tow-bar, new TPMS for the coach and the toad, new tires, timing belt and PS hose on the toad and will be changing the transmission fluid and filter on the moho as soon as my TranSynd fluid arrives. No money left for the trip now, lol.

I do have a question about Utah Hwy 16 between Evanston WY and US30. Just wondering if anyone here has tried this route, which looks a little shorter for us than taking US189.

You SHOULD be getting excited. You have some beautiful country ahead of you!!

Hwy 16 to 30 is a good road with any size RV on 16 to 89 to 30 and north toward Montpelier or on to Jackson, WY.

If you're planning to go down to Bear Lake/Garden City then you'll have a 4-mile descent and part of it is 7% & 6% with curves. We've done it but downshift before you begin heading down; not in the middle.

We're back from our trip and had a GREAT time. This was our first long trip in our Dolphin, and we just love it! We're already thinking about taking a trip to the Pacific Northwet now.

One thing I did right this time was to immediately go ahead and buy the things we need to properly outfit the rig to be our second home, i.e. portable satellite dish, vacuum cleaner, pots & pans, etc. With our previous rigs we would temporarily take things from the house and get out on the road and realize we'd forgotten something. Since we plan on keeping the Dolphin for years I decided I might as well equip it properly from the get go. I also did suspension upgrades such as trac bars, shocks etc. as soon as I bought it rather than waiting two or three years and eventually fixing things out of frustration.
