Gettysburg this weekend!

We're heading to Gettysburg this weekend, just seeing if anyone else is headed there.

We're heading there, too. Where are you traveling from? Have you been before? Any route tips?

We're from Philadelphia suburbs, but have never been here before. Love this
campground! Close to everything, very friendly people. We didn't travel the turn pike so spent a lot of time on Rt. 30, which was a nice ride. When are you traveling? We're here now.

We're about 8 hours west. Leaving today but staying in Ohio for a couple of days. We plan on being at Gettysburg Tuesday. Not sure of hubby's route plan but I think he said something about adding a few minutes to avoid 15. Great to hear about the campground. We've been looking forward to this trip for several weeks.

We made it. It is a very nice campground. Was a longer ride from Ohio than we anticipated, but a safe arrival to a nice campground is a good way to end the day. Hope you had a safe trip home and all went well.

We are on our way to Gettysburg in a couple of weeks but have no idea what the RV parks are like there. Looking for a park close to the battleground as we don't have a toad. Or perhaps a park that has a shuttle. Sent an email request to one that appeared closest but never heard back.

This is our first trip, I had some medical issues plus was remodeling the back bedroom, sort of a shake down cruise after owning it for two years. Thank You!

Gettysburg Campground is where we stayed. Not walkable, but call them about shuttles. I think I recall seeing something like that. Really nice campground and super folks. We had a creekside site. The park is all gravel and our site was slightly on the tight side, but it was peaceful.

Don't miss the cyclorama presentation at the visitor's center. The bus tours are very good. The battleground covers a lot of area so you might want to have a way to get around. We made it a mission to try to find all of our state's (indiana) monuments.

This was such a great trip and we could go back and still see more even after having been there 4 days. Have a great time!

We bought one of the CD tour self guide tours from the visitors center. It was worth every penny. It took us most of four days to drive the routes and check out the stops. Wife is disabled so getting around on a bus was not a great option. Saw lots of buses.

The Cyclorama or whatever it is called is well worth seeing.

If all goes as planned, we will be there the afternoon of the 19th. I need to ensure that my standard poodle is welcome, she is well behaved but I know some places don't accept dogs.

We stayed at artillery ridge. Very pet friendly, is located on the edge of battlefield. It is close to everything and very clean and nice staff.
