Question Glacier to Mt Rushmore

it's about 900 miles where to stop and see in between?

I would stop at the Big Horn Battlefield and spend the night in Buffalo Wyoming. You Have to try the food at Winchester's. Walking distance from the KOA park.

If you go the Wyoming route Devils Tower is worth a visit.

Jimbo, did the same trip last Summer. At Glacier we stayed at St. Mary's / Glacier KOA from there we went to Helena, Montana where we stayed at Lincoln Road RV Park. The place was nice. As far as Helena it was an overnight didn't do much other than ride by the State Capitol for a few pictures and then to the Walmart for supplies. The next day we went to Cody, WY and stayed at the centrally located Stagecoach RV Park for two nights. Cody has a ton of things to do and see. This time there we took in the Buffalo Bill Center of the West which is five museums in one. For us it was a half day for most it can be a day or more destination. Well worth the stop. We also went to the Cody Night Rodeo - Not to be missed. Second time for us and always a great time. Next we went to Custer, SD and stayed at the Beaver Lake Campground for two nights. The campground is located just west of town. There we visited the Custer State Park (take the inside gravel roads -everyone else takes the paved outside circle - worth the time), took the Iron Mountain road from Custer State Park to Mt. Rushmore. This is a dingy only road with several tunnels and cut backs where near the end you come out of a tunnel and in the distance framed by the tunnel is Mt. Rushmore. On the way back we took the Needles Highway very much similar to the Iron Mountain Road. Both worth the time and effort. Mt. Rushmore was nice and a bit crowded but the place can handle a lot of people.

X2 on Devils Tower. It doesn't look that impressive until you get up close. I was pleasantly surprised and there were many climbers on the day we visited. Was fun watching their progress up the tower. There is also a walking path around the base. Well worth a visit!
