Anchor Down RV resort is about 35 miles north east of Gatlinburg on the north shore of lake Douglas Lake, but its one of the nicest RV resorts I've ever visited. Concrete sites, many with stone fireplaces. Beautiful views of the lake and mountains, exceptional beach and pool. Highly recommended. Good luck getting a reservation. It's nearly full all season long.

I agree, but the first loop is better on the way in. Upper loop seems more long-term folks. Really decent prices. Easy to drive past on initial turn from the parkway.

Two Rivers Landing Resort is a great little park to stay at. Get a river edge site you will not be disappointed. One of the nicest places we have stayed.

We stayed at Douglas Dam TVA in Sevierville, site was huge. Backed up to the dam. They take the senior pass.

Hi umsman,
Try The Dell at Hidden Mountain Resort, Inc. | Cabin Types | The Dell RV
It is about a mile behind the Smoky Mountain Opry on Apple Valley Road. Near everything but very quiet and peaceful. Don't know when you plan on going, but the area is pretty well packed this year. Sales of class "A" coaches + the eclipse. Reserve as early as you can.

Got to tell ya, having spent 30 years of my life in western NC, Gatlinburg has degenerated into several miles of T-shirt shops and cheap eateries.

Only one thing good about Gburg is its proximity to the Great Smokes National Park.

My rec, stay here

https://www.nps.gov/grsm/planyourvisit/cadescove.htm

take your bicycles and bike Cades Cove on a Saturday, then drive your toad into Gburg for a look-see.

With several good moonshine and distillery's located within!

We stayed at Twin Creeks last year. No problems getting in and out with a 39' FW. It's close to town and has a trolley stop out front.
