BLM sites are boondock only, not electric or water at sites. There are two types of sites though, free and Long Term Visitor Areas (LTVAs). The free sites are for stays of up to 14 days. You can easily buy a dump and fresh water in town (I prefer a place called RV Relief - easy access). The closest free site to the gem show (which really is fabulous) is Hi Jolly, just north of town on the east side of Hwy 95. Just pull in, find a spot, It is about 2-3 miles to town. The LTVA sites are south of town and closer to the show. They have a cost of $40/14 days but there is a central water and dump station in one of the LTVAs that all folks staying in any LTVA can use. The closest ones to the show are La Posa West and La Posa North. West is right next to town and ridiculously crowded, but it is walking distance to pretty much everything. North you have to cross a wash, but still pretty close and pretty crowded. We stay in Q for a couple of months each winter, but we stay way back in the Tyson Wash LTVA. And the BLM allows generators from 7 am to 10 pm, so you should be able to handle your electrical needs that way.
