Good Campgrounds in the South/SE That Have Transportation for the Toad-less

My wife and I are in the process of buying our first motorhome and won't have a TOAD for the first year or year and a half. We are looking for campgrounds in the South or Southeast (we're in Florida) that have free or reasonable transportation to local metro areas or historic districts that we can check out while toad-less. As an example of what I mean, we were looking at Cherry Hill Park outside of Washington DC (which I realize is not really Southeast) which has a metro bus stop inside the campground that runs multiple times daily and can easily get you into the city. Have you encountered other great parks that have metro transportation to historic or downtown districts or campgrounds that have their own trolleys, etc.? Alternatively have you encountered parks that are within walking distance of said attractions? Thanks, in advance, for the advice!

Do not remember which one, but we stayed at a campground in St. Augustine, FL that had a trolley stop. James Island in Charleston also has transportation. We have not seen many, but there are a few.

Perhaps rent a car where public trans is not available? Will expand your possibilities

Thank you. The rental car idea is a good one - in fact, that's what we were planning on doing. We stumbled on the Washington DC campground and thought it was a good idea to look for places that have metro or trolley stops, etc. Surely there must be more. Would love to hit St. Augustine so I'll poke around RV Park Reviews and see if I can track down that campground.

Pigeon Forge and Sevierville has trolley stops at many of the campgrounds and run very often.

Not really in SE but when we were in Colorado, we went toadless, The park we went to had a direct line to Enterprise Rent A Car, they came and picked us up and were really great, and inexpensive.
