Good spot to split trip from Durango to Zion

Got a 32 foot class A with wife and small kids for our first trip this summer. I want to split the almost 400 miles between Durango and Zion with one night somewhere. Would prefer trees to desert as most of our trip is dusty. But am open to anywhere sensible and that you guys recommend.

This will be a Saturday, July 7th so needs to take reservations.

Thanks!

We don't know the route you're planning to take but from Cortez you could get on 491 North to 191 South to Blanding, UT. Here are some campgrounds:

RV Park Reviews :: Blanding, Utah ( UT ) - RV Parks and Campground Reviews

Your could tour Natural Bridges Nat'l Monument from there - nice hiking trails with ladder climbing for the kids - if they're old enough. It also has a nice campground but don't take 261 with your trailer from Natural Bridges to Mexican Hat - very steep, curvy, part gravel. From Blanding - 191 south to 163 (you'll pass Monument Valley) and pick up AZ 98 into Page, AZ. From there you can take either 89 or 89A into Kanab and on to Zion. Jacob Lake via 89A is higher elevation with trees and has a couple campgrounds but that might be too close to Zio for you - not mid-way. Have a good trip!
