Bring plenty of quarters, the showers are expensive. Buy all supplies before getting to close to the park all stores/ restaurants are owned by the same company.
Have not stayed in Tusayan. Have stayed in the Grand Canyon Park at Grand Canyon Trailer Village. Has full HU and a bus that picks you up at the RV park to anywhere in the south rim and the town just south of the park. We did not need to use our toad while there.
The RV park was OK but we just slept there and were gone all day and into the night. Vey convenient.

About 1 mile south of the south rim entrance is a forest service road that goes off to the west. You can park free there for up to 14 days. I found several really nice spots not far from the road. You have to be 1/4 mile from the paved road. It was quiet and well shaded.

Well we are back. The CG was OK . People were very nice, facilities were not much but you don't spend much time there anyway I guess. The showers were .25 a minute. Not an issue, just showered in the coach. Camper Village in the park seemed much nicer. The Canyon is a must see though. Well worth the trip. Thanks for the replies
