Grand Canyon Camping

We just pulled into the Grand Canyon Camper Village, 7-10-11. It is located about a mile south of the park. On a scale of 1-10, I would not give it much more than a 3+. It is a basic parking lot with gravel. The grounds are in bad condition and need lots of attention. They do not give refunds, so look at your site before you pay. My wife said the toilets were clogged. They charge extra for the showers, and the WiFi very weak. They have no camping supplies, not even the basics like toilet paper. We had to drive back into the park just to get the basics. However, in the park they have an excellent market, and shopping area. Would not stay here again, unless I had no other choice.

We stayed there at the end of March this year. Very disappointed in the condition of the sites. Before we could exit our site at the end of our visit we had to have them trim several trees in front of our site and at the end of the road or we would of had horrible scrapes down the side of our MH. Our site road was so rutted and had a steep drop off that we had a hard time leaving our site and not wrecking an axle. I looked around and think we were in the crappiest part of park and we had the biggest unit there. I would stay there again but would tell them in advance that I'll be checking out my site to make sure it would work out.

Don't forget to post in our Campgrounds section! Long after this thread has fallen down the list, a review in our Campgrounds section will be readily available.

Thanks for the info we plan to make a trip to Utah and the Grand Canyon, latter this year, I will have to remember not to stay there. If anyone has info on places to stay in Utah I would love to hear from you.
