Grand Teton National Park
Looking for campground recommendations that allow us to explore GTNP. We will be coming from Grand Lake, Colorado and would prefer to stay on the south side of the park. Should mention we will be in a 38' MH towing a Jeep. Thanks

I've heard good things about Gros Ventre in GTNP. We stayed in Jackson at the Virginian, if you like being closer to town.

Gros Ventre Campground
Not the newest or fanciest, but a great base camp to day trip into GTNP and Jackson. Check out this video https://youtu.be/bJhKm6N7_LM

We were across the pass in Dubois at the Longhorn RV ranch a couple of days ago, it was nice with river front views, and about a 50 mile drive across the scenic pass from the north gate of Grand Teton.

We stayed in Colter Bay RV Park this past July and highly recommend. We prefer to stay in a National Park.

Yes, Gros Ventre is a very central location for getting into Grand teton and 10-12 minutes from Jackson. If you want the city camping experience, then the downtown Jackson campgrounds are there ($$$$$$) if you want a more wilderness / wildlife experience, then Gros Ventre is the ticket. Almost guaranteed to see Moose walk thru the campground most days. We were there for 8 nights this past May. Only one loop has electric (36 sites) the other 250 are dry sites. First come/ first serve.
Got to do the Bar J Chuckwagon dinner show just outside Jackson. Money well spent.

DW and I stayed at GV in May and thoroughly enjoyed it but spent little time in camp as there is so much to see. If you've got one they do honor the senior pass. If you don't the 27th of this month is the last day to get one cheap.

Don't try to get into the Jackson area until after the eclipse. We've been in Gros Ventre for the last 11 days. It's first come first served, but surprisingly didn't fill up until wed. They are making the road to the campground 1 way on monday, with the left lane being for parking. Porta potties are being set up every couple hundred yards.
