Grant's Pass, OR to Crescent City, CA
Got a 45' rig. Do or don't go 199 from Grant's Pass to Crescent City. Heard 42 is a better road but 2x as long.
Don't want any damage to the rig, thanks
TIA

You won't have any issues going across 199, good road, some tight curves but not a problem, been across there many times in a truck and trailer.
Take you time, enjoy the view (Redwoods are magnificent)

I believe any coach over 40' is restricted from Hwy 199 in CA. Click on district 1 here: 45' Bus & Motorhome Map

We are hear. Sorry should have posted this a couple of days ago. Just like Gunny said.
PPl in the park we stayed in hate the road so made it sound worse than it was.
Bob. That may be true but the CHP that I let by didn't have a problem.
Thanks Guys.

That's fine, but that's one individual that may have had other things on his mind, and it's probably a good thing you weren't involved in an accident.

I live off HWY 199 just north of the CA/OR border and often see very large motorhomes crossing 199. That doesn't make it OK but I guess it's kind like obeying the posted speed limits on a freeway. You are OK until you get the wrong (or right) officer. Large semi trucks use it all day and night.
