If you care to share, what would you suggest as a great long weekend destination. We have several week long trips planned and looking for some ideas for shorter trips. We could do 10 or more Thursday to Monday trips.

Any ideas are appreciated.

Great thread to start !! I see you live in KY but I assume you have done the following trip we want to do. That is the Kentucky Bourbon Trail trip. Will a 3 or 4 day weekend to cover it ?

We actually have not done the trail, believe it or not. I've done a tour of Makers Mark but thats it. Not having done this trip not sure how many days are really needed. I will tell you that people rave about it. It's crazy to see how the bourbon is made.

This is a beautiful place that feels so out of the way yet close to shops and restaurants. River view is very nice and you can't beat the rates. We are definitely going back. Website below and pic of our rig in the campground.

Fries New River Trail RV park in Fries, VA. Perhaps the most relaxing place we have stayed. There is a rails to trail bike way that goes to Galax and beyond.
