Got an entry to Vineman race next year and was looking for a place to dry camp in guernerville , (car park type deal ).
Plan on staying at river bend CG for week , just night before it would be good to be close for 6am start .
Any advice appreciated

Can't say much about dry camping, but we enjoyed River Bend quite a bit while we were there. Lot's of good road riding too. Good luck at Vineman.

I'll say this much - there must be a lot of places to camp in the forest because we saw people coming out of the woods all the time. Then again, the area may be pretty packed and the people coming out of the woods didn't look like they were getting in from a run, if you know what I mean.

My daughter lives in Guerneville and runs Berry's Market in Forestville on 116 / River Road so i've been there many times. I can honetsly say i've never seen anywhere in the area to dry camp. When we go we always have put our 38" rig in here yard as she had a huge side yard with access right off River Road in Forestville, but alas she move to Guerneville so it's out of the question now. Out of the town proper most of the side roads are too small for class A rigs to pass through, class C's might get in but i won't bet on it.

There are a lot of businesses in town with side streets that might allow you to spend the night but the local law is pretty tough due to homeless so i wouldn't bet on that for sure either.

Look at Casini Ranch Family Campground just past Monte Rio as well.

Most of the hotels are booked so I thought I may look for one with a large parking lot and offer to pay for 24 hours

That would be in Santa Rosa then as there's no large hotels/motels anywhere on River Road (or near) from Forestville to Jenner. Everything in the area is roadside motels. Not saying you couldn't park overnight on a side street in Guerneville itself as long as nobody cares. My only concern would be the large number of meth heads the region has and their propensity to roam the streets and steal anything not bolted down at night. You might be able to stay over at the Rexall Drugs lot however the Safeway grocery store has the biggest lot in town and usually empty later.
