Gulf Shores AL campgrounds

We're planning to spend Jan.-Apr. 2018 in the Gulf Shores area in our 32' Grey Wolf TT. Over the past ten years we've spent a week there renting beach houses in the Fort Morgan, Dauphin Island area. Lots of beach walks, fishing and the usual tourist stuff.

Doing some research there don't appear to be many/any campgrounds right on the Gulf. The question is if we stayed 6-10 miles inland how bad will we miss the water and how easy will beach access be. Any suggestions on campgrounds or alternative areas would be appreciated.

We live in WI and will be in Fort Morgan in April to look over campgrounds.

Alabama's "Gulf State Park" is within walking distance if you request a pull through, full hookup space on the canal located at the southwest corner of the park. If I recall, it was about a 1/2 mile walk and a side walk was present all the way. If that walk is more than you would desire, there is free beachfront parking for Gulf State Park campers. It was a nice place and hope to return. Gulf State Park | Alapark

Pandion is a nice new campground. Maybe 5 miles from a public beach. We stayed there for 9 or 10 nights the first part of Oct. Wifi was good, cable not so much, but otherwise really nice and convenient.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions for campgrounds around Gulf Shores. We'll be checking them out in April
